Please fill out a volunteer application and bring it to the Library if you are interested in any of the following jobs.

LEGO Club Supervisor 

(This program is currently held once a month and is a drop in time for children to gather and build together.  The Library provides the Legos and children display what they have made in the children’s area between sessions.  We would like to make this a weekly afterschool offering.  At present, most children attending have been under 8 years old.)

Job Description:  Supervise  the weekly LEGO Club which involves rolling out two large bins full of Lego and supervising the room during the building time…offering encouragement, suggestions, and guidance as needed and mediating participants when behavior issues arise.
Time commitment:  1-2 hours every Wednesday afternoon
Requirements: Able to bend and stoop and lift loads of 30 lbs.

Public Computer Station Physical Maintenance:

Job Description:  Clean public computer station keyboards and screens, refill scrap paper holders and make sure there is a writing utensil, and dust furniture around the wires.
Time commitment: 1 hour a week

Public Computer Station Digital Maintenance:

Job Description:  Check for updates, run scans, clean up files according to procedure.
Time commitment:  2 hours a week.
Requirements:  Solid understanding of computer maintenance, simple troubleshooting, ability to closely follow a detailed procedure involving multiple applications.

Videographer Tutor

Job Description:  Hold regular workshops for the public on video-making and editing using library video-editing software.  Meet with individuals working on projects to offer advice and information.
Time commitment:  As arranged.  Could be a weekly time slot, a monthly drop in or workshop.
Requirements:  Background in use of Final Cut Pro and Motion products.  Interest in teaching beginners as well as assisting intermediate skill level individuals.

Animation/Cartooning Tutor

Job Description:  Hold regular workshops for the public on creating animations  using library  software.  Meet with individuals working on projects to offer advice and information.
Time commitment:  As arranged.  Could be a weekly time slot, a monthly drop in or workshop.
Requirements:  Background in use of Animationish (Fablevision) product.  Interest in teaching beginners as well as assisting intermediate skill level individuals.
