The Welcoming Library is Here! February 14 – March 6

The Library will be hosting the Welcoming Library for 3 Weeks!

The Welcoming Library is a pop-up community conversation about immigration. That conversation is driven by a collection of acclaimed immigration-themed picture books and their embedded discussion questions.A picture of the word welcome in many languages

The collection, its pop-up display unit, and programming and educational tools, packs into a crate and travels between schools, libraries, and community centers in a given region.

Read to your Family!   Read to a Friend!  Read to Yourself!

Sit down and read a Welcome Library book while the collection is here.

  • Every time you read a Welcome Library book, you can add a sticker to our display.
  • Search the Library and see if you can find “Libraries are For Everyone” in 18 different languages

Adopted by states, counties, cities, and districts nationwide for regional circulation, the Welcoming Library invites readers of all ages to explore literature as a means to celebrate our commonalities and differences and to create an environment of welcoming.
