Meet Danielle Fortin Our New Children’s Librarian

Welcome Danielle!

We are excited to introduce our new staff person to you.  She starts next week and will be ready for the South Berwick Halloween Parade and Trick or Treat Night on Young Street.

Danielle has been working in libraries for over 20 years, focusing on working with children and teens.  She has trained with Saroj Ghoting from Every Child Ready to Read, NASA’s StarNet, and others to try and learn some of the best practices for working with children in libraries. She has presented numerous times at state conferences, both in Maine and New Hampshire.

Danielle loves story times and flannel boards, fun programs, and STEM exploration. She most recently comes from the Lewiston Public Library and is excited to join the South Berwick Public Library.

When she’s not at the library Danielle plays roller derby with Maine Roller Derby and Seacoast Roller Derby. She has two very spoiled cats and loves to bake. Her favorite movie is Labyrinth and she’s a Slytherin, though her best friend is a Hufflepuff.
