2017 Library Summer Calendar

 

 Summer Reading Program June 1 – August 26

Every Wednesday – 3:30-4:30 LEGO Club (ages 3-10)

July 11 – Tuesday -1:00-3:00-Kite workshop with Why Things Fly’s  Bob Ray (children under 8 need an adult)    This workshop includes a presentation about kite history, folklore, cool kite stories, construction and safety.  Participants can then make a kite to keep.  (The Friends have sponsored 20 kite makers, first come first serve,  but others can purchase a kite for $5 after that.) 

July 11 – Tuesday – 6:30-7:30 – Community Drum Circle with Patsy Onatah of The Humble Drum and the Sanford Community Drum Circle will lead us in an evening of rhythm.  BYOD if you have one or anything that makes a nice rhythmic sound.  All Ages.

July 18-Tuesday-2:00- Making Fun Stuff- (STEM for kids) Dazzling Kaleidoscope  have fun with light by building your very own kaleidoscope.  Dazzle your friends and family with this device that seems to fold light. (children under 8 need an adult)

July 18-Tuesday-5:00 pm – Gotta See It Film Series – Fantastic Beasts

July 19-Wednesday-5:00 pm – Gotta See It Film Series – Passengers

July 25-Tuesday-2:00- Making Fun Stuff- (STEM for kids) Off to the races by land and by water.  Learn how to build a Balloon Powered Car and a Soap Powered Boat in one fun packed episode of Maker Group. (children under 8 need an adult)

July 26 – Wednesday 10:30 – EarthJam’s Matt Loosigian – Children’s Musician

August 1-Tuesday-2:00- Making Fun Stuff-(STEM for kids) Learn how to use those school supplies to build a Pyramid Catapult.  Why?  Because catapults are just fun!  (children under 8 need an adult)

August 8 – Tuesday – 10:30 – Conjuring Carroll– Magic Show

August 22-Tuesday-5:00 pm – Gotta See It Film Series – Sing

August 23-Wednesday-6:30 pm – Gotta See It Film Series – Fences
