Helen Rousseau, a Catholic nun for 30 years, is now an ordained interfaith minister. She will read an excerpt from her new book and talk about poetry and healing.
Helen’s poems and writings are about her journey from dogma to interior spiritual freedom and from an abusive relationship to exterior freedom and joy. Her latest work, “Coming to the Edge,” is an interactive book. There are 50 poems divided into three sections: Struggle, Transformation and Dance, the circle of life that we go through again and again.
“Helen’s poems and passionate words guide us not only through her journey of struggle and growth, but invite us to stand in reflection of our own steps on the path to wholeness. She ultimately comes to a place of claiming her own sacred power while encouraging us …to dance in your freedom for all you’ve regained,” said Marsie Silvestro, poet and author and advocate against domestic violence.
